"Farm from Home," by Amanda Brooks

In search of a quieter, simpler life away from the grind, Amanda Brooks moved with her family in 2012 from New York City to her husband's family farm in Oxfordshire. Originally intended to be a yearlong creative sabbatical, Brooks's relocation became permanent. Farm from Home is her chronicle of newfound freedom, told through a year's changing seasons. She describes the adjustment to her new surroundings with gorgeous detail and photographs, finding joy in unexpected moments and punctuating each month with delicious recipes that use ingredients from her own garden and farm.

Amanda Brooks is the author of I Love Your Style and Always Pack a Party Dress. She is currently a contributing editor at Condé Nast Traveler and Architectural Digest and has also written for The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, and British Vogue. The former fashion director of Barneys New York and creative director of Tuleh, she has appeared on Today, The Early Show, and National Public Radio. She lives with her husband and two children in Oxfordshire, England.

"Farm from Home is a classic fairytale in reverse. A Manhattan 'It Girl' moves to a working farm in England and finds happiness in the simple things. Amanda Brooks places us right in her wellies as she takes us through a year at Fairgreen Farm, creating a new life for herself and her family. It's a fantasy I often write about, but Amanda is the real-life version. This beautiful and intimate diary includes Amanda's own home photos and country-inspired recipes.
