This reversible quilt is stunning on both sides. It is difficult to say if one was intended as the primary. One side is Flying Geese done in several beautiful printed brown fabrics that combine perfectly together. The reverse is a Bars pattern with a brown print alternating with a blue checkerboard. At first glance, the small squares appear to be pieced but in actuality, they are printed. All of the fabrics are richly colored and unusual. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. Pinned to it are tags saying "Aunt Martha Greider from her great great Grandmother" and the other saying "For Mary Jane Herr". The quilt is from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; made circa 1870.
