Mary Janes, Velvet, Bevilaqua Tiger

by Le Monde Beryl

Le Monde Beryl’s black and beige striped Mary Jane Flats spotlight the Bevilacqua Tiger motif – a pattern designed by the Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua weaving mill that was founded in 1875 and is based on the Grand Canal in Venice. They’re handcrafted in Italy and follow the label’s signature gondolier slipper-inspired silhouette with a smooth leather lining and a buckled top strap.
Inspired by the spirit of adventure and the rich cultural patchwork of the Silk Route, Le Monde Beryl is a luxury accessories brand based in London and founded by friends Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin. Launched in 2015 with a new take on the classic Venetian gondolier's slipper, Le Monde Beryl now includes mules, kitten heels, boots, etc. The name Le Monde Beryl references a family of gemstones that includes Emerald, Aquamarine, Morganite and Heliodor, long considered talismanic to travellers and artists. It also pays homage to the pioneering aviatrix and adventurer Beryl Markham, who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic from East to West.  More items from Le Monde Beryl
