May Cushion

Inspired by our visit to Kelmscott manor last summer and named after May Morris, herself an embroiderer and William Morris’s daughter. A central panel of antique needlepoint depicting grapes, pears and flowers is patchworked together with hand stitched cotton block prints , sari and embroidered floral bands. Hand whipstitching in wool is applied on top of the seams. For the reverse side a niave peonie block print is used. The cushion is outlined with a shetland wool fringe. The cushion is delivered in it's own canvas drawstring bag. Made in Normandie.
