Quilted placemat is made from 100% cotton in Bagru, India using a traditional printing technique that dates back 450 years. This process includes hand-block printing using only natural dyes in a limited selection of colours - red and black being the most widely used - on an off-white base.

For the red colour, a gum paste solution is put in water and then strained through a cotton cloth. When the colour is applied on the fabric it appears brown in colour with the help of the blocks but after the fabric is placed in the furnace the colour turns into red.

Placemat: 32cm x 48cm / 12.5" x 19"

Machine wash separately with mild detergent and a gentle cycle. Do not bleach or tumble dry and ensure low heat when ironing.
